The construction companies agreed to abide by the guidelines to maintain the pristine environment, according to an official release.
DM prohibits dumping of construction materials, debris
ITANAGAR, Jan 20: Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate in an order under section 133 Cr. P.C, has prohibited dumping of debris, construction materials, sand, sangles, pebbles and excavated earth along the highway or in any public place. failing which all such deposits shall be removed at the cost of persons responsible or causing such dumping.
Meanwhile, the Councilor of Ward No 18 Gora Lotak has demanded the highway authority and capital complex administration to take necessary urgent step to remove all the soils and building materials like sand, boulders etc. that are being dumped alongside of the national highway from Banderdewa to Itanagar.
Dumping of soil alongside of the highway is not only litering the road but also creating problem in smooth flow of traffic as well as pedestrian giving them little room for free movement, the Councilor said.
While expressing his strong resentment over inattentive attitude of both the district magistrate and the highway authority in removing the dumped soil taking action against the erring individuals, the Councilor threatened to launch democratic movement in case the dumped soils were not disposed off immediately.
Salary of absentee UD employees withheld

ITANAGAR, Jan 20: State government has come down heavily against the absentee state government employees.
Based on a report submitted by flying squad team of Administrative Reform department, Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi has ordered that till justification is received, salary of all the staff and officers of Urban Development and Housing except Chief Engineer, Director (Housing), Joint Director and Deputy Director be withheld for the month of January. These technical officers have been spared as they are presumed to be on field inspection, the order read.
“Explanation may be sought from each one of the absentee employees and submitted to Chief Secretary Office for releasing salary depending upon the justification,” the order further read.
On Jan 14, a flying squad team from the Department of Administrative Reforms visited the offices of Urban Development and Housing Departments between 10 and 10.30 am.
During the visit, team found that many staff were absent without any reasons. “Seeing us, some of the staff members started calling their friends over phone. Many of them came rushing,” the team reported.
Governor tells Postal service to improve coverage
ITANAGAR, Jan 20: Governor emphasized that Postal Service in the state must expand its coverage to all the districts and then ADC Headquarters. It must provide quality service and the Speed Post service must be improved. Governor JP Rajkhowa said this when the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong, S.C. Barmma called on him at Raj Bhavan today.
He suggested for use of helicopter service for faster delivery of its goods and services.
In this regard Governor stressed that post of Director, Postal Service at Itanagar, which is lying vacant since long time must be filled at the earliest.
Expressing his appreciation to the Postal Department for starting a Parcel Hub and Postal Bank with postal ATM facilities in the State Capital in the coming days, the Governor advised the Chief Postmaster General (CPMG), North East Circle to keep Arunachal Pradesh in mind for such innovative and extended programmes of the Department. He also advised him to exhort the Postal Officials in the State to take active part in the Swachh Bharat Mission. The Chief Postmaster General informed that Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Department of Telecom will be inaugurating the new building of Post Office at Itanagar on Jan 31.
While assuring better service in the future, the CPMG briefed the Governor on ‘Rural Postal Life Insurance scheme in the State and amenities provided by the Department.

NSCN (IM) area commander nabbed
CHANGLANG, Jan 20: Security forces nabbed an area commander of NSCN (IM) from Ngoitong area early Tuesday morning.
Acting on specific intelligence input, the jawans of 14 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 25 sectors cordoned off the general area of Ngoitong and launched search operation which led to apprehension of SS (Lt) Tenyang Kungkho alias “Saka Tutsa”, the area commander of NSCN (IM) from his residence, according to army sources.
A Chinese made 9 mm loaded pistol, 12 bore barrel gun including 6 cartridges and other incriminating documents like village tax collection slips were recovered from his possession.
The apprehended NSCN ultra was handed over to the Changlang Police Station.
A case has been registered against him and further investigation launched, the report added.

LAC not enough, says Association

ITANAGAR, Jan 20: The All Arunachal Pradesh Trans Arunachal Highly Welfare Association in a release today claimed that out of Rs 83 crores compensation claimed between Bopi and Tai in Upper Subansiri, only Rs 5.08 crores has been sent for approval.
The association resolved not to accept the amount which is based on the rate of 2011 notification.
“Authorities have forwarded the list of compensation package to the ministry of road, transport and highway, New Delhi without consent and knowledge of land affected people of Upper Subansiri,” they alleged.
Further they claimed that land acquisition rate of 2011 notified by government of Arunachal Pradesh for payment of compensation under Trans Arunachal Highway Project is inordinately low and not acceptable to land owners.
“2011 rate was not fixed with due recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner of concerned districts under whose district Trans Arunachal Highway project is to be implemented. The rate of 2011 is not valid now as rate has escalated in the last few years and compensation should be paid based on the present market rate,” they continued.

DC stresses on need for proper planning to ensure affordable healthcare facilities
PASIGHAT, Jan 20: East Siang DC Isha Khosla stressed on the need for proper planning and strategies to help the general hospital authorities to provide affordable healthcare and advanced treatment facilities to the patients.
She was addressing the 8th governing body meeting of Hospital Management Society (HMS) of Pasighat General Hospital held at Siang Guest House conference hall here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by the HMS members including ADC Deepak Shinde, JDHS (T&R) Dr. Kabang Lego, DMO Dr. M Perme, MS Dr. YR Darang, ZPC Kaling Dai and Chief Councilor (PMC) Denong Tamuk, doctors, ZPMs and various HoDs.
The DC further stressed the need for regulated power supply for the hospital so that all sophisticated instruments and equipments are operated properly to deliver uninterrupted service to the patients. Governor blamed for the state’s political crisis
ITANAGAR, Jan 20: Arunachal Civil Society (ACS) has held the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh solely responsible for the current political crisis in the state.
Whatever has happened to the state politics till date it is due to the ‘selfish planning’ of the Governor, ACS said in press statement.
“Whenever any law and order or financial problem arises in a state, the duty of the Governor is to give the State Government constructive suggestions on how to overcome the situation and normalise it. But, it is very sad to see here that the Governor has not been capable enough to tackle the situation. Rather, the political crisis is deepening further due to his involvement in it,” the release stated.
The ACS also said that the intent of the Governor was to impose President’s Rules.
Accusing the governor of creating conflict among parties, the ACS opined that the present crisis could have been sorted out through his initiative and conducting a round table conference.

Time to introspect
Once considered the most peaceful state these days Arunachal is in news for all the
wrong reasons. Incidents of crime especially related to children are growing which
is matter of deep concern. School and home, which are believed to be the safest places
for children, are becoming unsafe. Many incidents of crime against children are being
reported from various schools of Arunachal. In the latest incident, the principal-
The parents came to know about incident on January 9th and immediately filed an FIR against alleged accused. In another incident recently a small girl, working as maid was rescued with lot of wound and bruises. She was tortured and forced into child labour with a family in Pasighat. Both the incident painfully reminds us how Arunachal has changed for bad in the last few years. People of state were once known for loving their servants and house maids. Infact many people from neighbouring Assam preferred to work in Arunachal for these very reasons. It is heartening to know that Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women is fighting to seek justice for the young victim. Commission has requested the concerned authority not to grant bail to the culprits involved in torture of girl. This step by women commission is really laudable. While law will take its own course of action in both the cases but people of Arunachal also need to introspect. We should not support those persons who indulge in criminal activities. It's time to go beyond clan and tribe.

It seems that the APPSC’s calendar is late by one month or more. Seriously, the Govt Of A.P should provide them one. First week of December has gone past and that of February is approaching but mains result is nowhere.

1. What is the status and the report of a fact finding committee which was formed in the aftermath of hunger strike?

3. And by now having your son/daughters graduating this year, Can we expect the complete recruitment by August this year as it is the peak time when university results are out?
4. What took the highest recruiting body to complete the recruitment this long?

Organic farming has been catching interest across the globe and thus can be looked upon as a great economic benefit particularly for the low input agriculture system of developing and under developed nations. The economic opportunity associated with organic farming is due to the fact that it fetches higher prices in both national and international markets due to the natural growth process and system under which a crop is cultivated.

India being a predominantly agronomic nation has been slowly venturing into the international organic market. Some major states have also invested heavily in developing and promoting organic agriculture including the North East. Sikkim has been the most successful state in terms of developing organic farming and organic agriculture in spite of some moderate challenges and should work as an important model for other smaller North Eastern states. Adjoining India, Nepal, Bhutan ad Myanmar have also started organic farming initiative with Bhutan being most successful in establishing organic farming practices within her boundaries.
